Wedding site on Mississippi River in Minneapolis, MN
Question:Dear Reverend Coleman,
I am planning a wedding with either spring (10), early summer (10) or fall (09) in mind, and I'm looking for an historic wedding venue in the Twin Cities that is in the metro area, but overlooking the river with access to an outside patio or social space. I am considering the Minnesota Boat Club on the Mississippi River in St Paul, MN primarily, but they seem to be booked up for this coming fall. Do you have any recommendations? It would be really nice to have a place that was scenic like that, but not far from the metro area.
Thank you!

Answer:
Good afternoon, BSFTO,
Congratulations on your engagement! The dilemma you're finding with the Minnesota Boat Club on Harriet Island on the Mississippi in St Paul is the same dilemma you'll find at all of the premiere wedding reception sites in the Twin Cities. Saturdays in warm weather just book up really fast (there's only 25 of those Saturdays, and only about a dozen premiere sites...)
However, have you heard about the Nicollet Island Pavilion in downtown Minneapolis, MN? The Nicollet Island Pavilion is right on the river, has great views, and has an outdoor patio and social space. It's right downtown, and it's gorgeous!I hope this e-mail helps!
Warmly,
Rev. Tomkin Coleman
